PROGRAM DETAILS

Arrive in Bright on Thursday evening between 6 pm and 10 pm and be greeted by your friendly guides who will have supper available as you meet and share with your fellow adventurers.

If arriving in time for dinner, there are a plethora of great choices within an easy walk of our accommodation. Your guide can suggest some options for you.

Today we will be exploring the summit of Mt Buffalo. We will start with a visit to Rollason’s Falls, recently voted part of Broadsheet’s ‘Top 10 Waterfalls’ in Victoria. From there we will take a short walk to the Monolith for stunning views of the Mt Buffalo Plateau before a fabulous lunch on the foreshore of Lake Catani.

Well-fuelled, we will explore the Chalwell Galleries, a natural adventure playground passing through Snow Gums and up to a jumble of large granite rocks. The climb through the Galleries is steep and challenging at times but your guides will be there to help you every step of the way.

The final stop for the day is a visit to the Horn which gives views of the entire Victorian High country, before returning to our accommodation to rest and refresh.

We will top off the day with a fabulous meal at Porepunkah Pub with picturesque view out to Mt Buffalo.

Total daily distance: 6km

Today we will head off and take on ‘The Big Walk’.

The walk has an initial challenging and steep section but then moves into a gradual incline as you ascend through the varied terrain enjoying opportunities to spot wildlife and soak up the amazing vista across to Mt Feathertop.

We will finish our walking for the day and picnic at the historic Mt Buffalo Chalet site. The Mt Buffalo Chalet was built in 1910 and has a long history of hosting hiking and skiing adventure seekers.

Total Distance 11.5km

After some pretty challenging hiking days with significant elevation gains, today’s itinerary will be an easier walk along the famous Canyon Walk, leaving time to explore the village of Bright and lunch at your leisure before heading back home.

Total Distance 4.5km
