- Force Majeure
If Wanderlust Trails is prevented (directly or indirectly) from performing any of its obligations under this agreement by reason of act of God, strikes, trade disputes, fire, breakdowns, interruption of transport, government or political action, acts of terrorism, acts or omissions of a third party or any other cause whatsoever outside Wanderlust Trails reasonable control, Wanderlust Trails will be under no liability to you and may, at our option, by written notice, either cancel the booking or make alternative arrangements.
- Health & Fitness requirements
All participants must have the physical and mental fitness required to undertake the Hike they are booking.
You acknowledge that participation in any Wanderlust Trails Hike carries inherent risks, including but not limited to physical exertion, uneven terrain, and variable weather conditions. You accept full responsibility for your personal health, safety, and belongings throughout any activity.
Participants with any pre-existing medical conditions or specific medical and/or dietary needs must disclose this information at the time of booking. You may be asked to provide written confirmation from your doctor, certifying that you are fit to participate or travel.
We highly recommend all participants consult their doctor to confirm they can meet the physical demands of any Hike. Any existing or new health issues arising before the date of a Hike must be communicated to Wanderlust Trails in writing.
It is a condition of booking a Hiking Tour with Wanderlust Trails that you complete and provide us with a fully completed travel booking form, including medical questions. If travelling overseas with Wanderlust Trails, please familiarise yourself with any specific health requirements for the destination.
It is your responsibility to ensure you have received all necessary vaccinations and immunisations prior to departure.
Wanderlust Trails reserves the right to deny participation at any time if we determine that your physical or mental condition is unsuitable for travel or poses a risk to yourself or others.
- Food Health & Safety
Wanderlust Trails prepares and provides meals during its Hikes. Although occupational health, safety and food handling best practices are followed by Wanderlust Trails and its staff and contractors, we cannot guarantee all traces of nuts, egg, dairy, gluten and other known allergens are fully removed. Wanderlust Trails will not accept responsibility or liability for an adverse reaction to any food provided. In attending a Hike, particularly walks of an extended nature, overnight Hiking Tours and events held in remote areas, participants agree that food either prepared or served in the field may not meet all hygiene standards.
- Assumption of Risk & Safety Declaration
You acknowledge that:
- By its very nature, adventure travel can be more challenging and demanding with a commensurately higher level of risk compared with conventional holidays and involve potential exposure to injury and possibly death.
- Operational control of any Hike may be in the hands of a third party and that your right of action regarding any shortcoming of that third party’s performance is against the third party and not against Wanderlust Trails.
- The additional dangers and risks associated with adventure travel may include difficult and dangerous terrain, extremes of weather, including sudden and unexpected changes, remoteness from normal medical services and from communications and evacuation difficulties in the event of illness or injury.
We reserve the right to withdraw any person who in our opinion is likely to endanger themselves or others. We also reserve the right to cancel any activity if we become concerned for any reason for your safety or that of any other person. You must follow our instructions and use any safety equipment provided. For the above reasons you accept the inherent and increased dangers and risks associated with the proposed adventure and the accompanying risk of injury, death or property damage or loss.
- Travel Insurance
For Hiking Retreats within Australia, we strongly recommended you have travel insurance and a minimum of an ambulance subscription from your home State or Territory.
For all World Hiking Tours, travel insurance is compulsory.
Your travel insurance should provide cover against personal accident and sickness, medical expenses, emergency repatriation and personal liability. We also recommend that the policy covers cancellation, curtailment and loss of luggage and personal effects. Similar levels of cover may be available through your personal credit card or health insurance program; however we strongly recommend you confirm this prior to attendance.
Wanderlust Trails cannot be held responsible where travel insurance has been recommended or offered and not obtained or for insufficient cover of any loss(es).
- Single Supplement
All Hiking Tours are arranged and priced based on twin-share accommodation. For those seeking a private room, a single supplement is available at an additional cost, subject to availability. Solo travellers will be paired with a fellow participant unless they opt to pay the advertised single supplement fee to secure a guaranteed private room.
