Terms and Conditions
It is important that you read and understand the following conditions before making your booking. By paying your deposit, you acknowledge that you have read, understood and agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions which form an agreement between Wanderlust Trails Pty Ltd (ACN 684 217 374) and you.
1. How to Book
All prices are in Australian dollars. To reserve your place on one of the tours, you should complete the booking form along with a non-refundable deposit of $300 as specified in these Terms and Conditions to Wanderlust Trails.
2. Payment
Prices quoted in the brochure are in Australian dollars and are payable by Credit Card or Bank Transfer. The balance of the tour price is payable 30 days prior to departure (or if later, at time of booking).
3. Cancellations/refunds/transfers
If you wish to cancel or transfer your tour, please notify Wanderlust Trails in writing. Once Wanderlust Trails receives your notice, they will process the request based on the following criteria:
If you fail to attend an event on the day for any reason, all monies will be forfeited, and you will not be entitled to any form of compensation.
If you cancel your booking prior to the event you may be eligible for the following:
DAY HIKES
- More than 48 hours prior to the event we will provide you with a credit for the amount paid less a 10% administration fee.
- Less than 48 hours notice will result in a 100% forfeit of all monies paid.
MULTI-DAY HIKES AND INTERNATIONAL TRIPS
Cancellations:
- If cancellation occurs outside 30 days of the departure date you will forfeit your full deposit.
- If cancellation occurs between 30-14 days prior to departure you will forfeit 50% of the tour price.
- If cancellation occurs within 14 days of departure you will forfeit 100% of the tour price.
Transfers:
If you wish to transfer from one Wanderlust Trails tour to another, you should notify Wanderlust Trails in writing and your transfer will take effect subject to the following.
Transfers may only be made to another tour to commence within 12 months of your original departure date and the following transfer charges will apply:
- If your notice is received more than 30 days prior to your original departure a $100 transfer fee will apply.
- If your notice is received within 30-8 days of your original departure date, 25% of your original tour price will be forfeited and the remainder transferred to the departure nominated by you.
- If your notice is received within 7 days of your original departure date, 100% of your original tour price will be forfeited.
4. Single supplement
All trips are arranged and priced based on twin-share accommodation. For those seeking a private room, a single supplement is available at an additional cost, subject to availability. Solo travellers will be paired with a fellow adventurer unless they opt to pay the advertised single supplement fee to secure a guaranteed private room.”
5. Cancellation due to Tour Booking Numbers
Wanderlust Trails reserves the right to cancel any tour prior to departure in the event that there are too few people booked on a tour in which case you will be given a full refund of payments you have made to Wanderlust Trails. You will not be entitled to claim any additional amounts or seek any compensation for any injury, loss, expenses or damage or for any loss of time or inconvenience which may result from the cancellation.
6. Travel insurance
It is strongly recommended that participants have a minimum of an Ambulance subscription from their home State or Territory.
Travel insurance is compulsory on all of our international tours (ex-Australia) and Wanderlust Trails strongly recommend customers arranging travel insurance for all tours including overnight domestic trips.
Your insurance should provide cover against personal accident and sickness, medical expenses, emergency repatriation and personal liability. We also recommend that the policy covers cancellation, curtailment and loss of luggage and personal effects. Similar levels of cover may be available through your personal credit card or Health Insurance programs; however we strongly recommend participants confirm this prior to attendance.
Wanderlust Trails cannot be held responsible where travel insurance has been recommended/offered and not obtained or for insufficient cover for any loss(es).
7. Route Changes
Wanderlust reserves the right to:
- Change the date of departure or conclusion of the tour, or, modify any aspect of the tour, or
- Cancel or modify any routes with the tour or objectives set out in the itinerary, or
- Substitute different or equivalent routes within the tour in place of cancelled or modified routes, or
- Postpone, cancel or delay any such aspect of the tour
This may be based on emerging weather conditions such as extreme heat, fire, lightening or icy conditions or any other potentially hazardous or dangerous circumstances that arise that could compromise the safety of participants and guides.”
8. Health and Fitness requirements
It is a condition of booking with Wanderlust Trails that you complete and provide us with a fully filled Travel Booking Form, including Medical Questions. All participants must have the physical and mental fitness required to undertake the Tour they are booking. If travelling overseas with Wanderlust Trails, please familiarise yourself with any specific health requirements for the destinations.
Participants with any pre-existing medical conditions or specific medical/dietary needs must disclose this information at the time of booking. You may be asked to provide written confirmation from your doctor, certifying that you are fit to travel. It is your responsibility to ensure you have received all necessary vaccinations and immunisations prior to departure.
All participants should consult their doctor to confirm they can meet the physical demands of the Tour. Any existing or new health issues arising before departure must be communicated to Wanderlust Trails in writing.
Wanderlust Trails reserves the right to deny participation at any time if the Tour leader determines that your physical or mental condition is unsuitable for travel or poses a risk to yourself or others.
9. Force Majeure
If Wanderlust Trails is prevented (directly or indirectly) from performing any of its obligations under this agreement by reason of act of God, strikes, trade disputes, fire, breakdowns, interruption of transport, government or political action, acts of terrorism, acts or omissions of a third party or any other cause whatsoever outside Wanderlust Trails reasonable control, Wanderlust Trails will be under no liability to you and may, at its option, by written notice, either cancel the tour or arrange alternative tour arrangements.
10. Assumption of Risk and safety declaration
You acknowledge that:
- By its very nature of adventure travel can be more challenging and demanding with a commensurately higher level of risk compared with conventional holidays, and involve potential exposure to injury and possibly death, and:
- Operational control of the tour may be in the hands of a third party and that your right of action regarding any shortcoming of that third party’s performance is against the third party and not against Wanderlust Trails, and
- The additional dangers and risks associated with adventure travel may include difficult and dangerous terrain, extremes of weather, including sudden and unexpected changes, remoteness from normal medical services and from communications and evacuation difficulties in the event of illness or injury
We reserve the right to withdraw any person who in our opinion is likely to endanger themselves or others. We also reserve the right to cancel any activity if we become concerned for any reason for your safety or that of any other person. You must follow our instructions and use any safety equipment provided For the above reasons you accept the inherent and increased dangers and risks associated with the proposed adventure and the accompanying risk of injury, death or property damage or loss.
11. Personal Images
You consent to the collection, disclosure and use of personal images by Wanderlust Trails and any agent taking photos or video recording (Images) and acknowledge that these may be used for marketing purposes by Wanderlust Trails for distribution via print, online (including but not limited to any social media) and video-based marketing materials, as well as other publications (from time to time);
12. Release and Waiver of Liability
In consideration of Wanderlust Trails accepting your booking and in consideration of you being permitted by Wanderlust Trails to join the tour to the extent permitted by law, you:
release, waive, discharge, hold harmless and agree to indemnify Wanderlust Trails and its officers, employees, agents, licensees, guides and other representatives and the land management authorities in Australia from all claims, actions or losses for bodily injury, property damage, wrongful death, loss of services, loss of profits, consequential, exemplary, indirect or punitive damages or otherwise which may arise out of or occur during your travel in connection with the tour or any activities conducted in conjunction there within unless caused by the wilful negligence or wrongful act of Wanderlust Trails and its employees: and regardless of the situation or circumstances giving rise to the claim you waive any claims you have, or may at any time have, against Wanderlust Trails and its employees and you agree, by accepting the additional inherent dangers and risks associated with the tour, not to make any claim against or seek any compensation from Wanderlust Trails and its employees in respect of any personal injury, illness or death suffered by you or damage to or loss of property sustained by you as a result of your participation in the tour. To the extent permitted by law, all our liability for damage to your property, disruption to travel plans, or mental injury is excluded.
13. Jurisdiction
These terms and conditions are governed by the laws of the state of Victoria, Australia and any legal action arising thereof shall be litigated on in the appropriate court in that state.
14. Privacy
The information supplied by you on the booking form will only be used by Wanderlust Trails. However, in the unlikely event of an accident, any special medical or personal information may be supplied to medical or emergency services personnel.

Wanderlust Trails reserves the right to change, amend or delete any of these Terms and Conditions, or policies contained therein from time to time without prior notice except that if you have entered into an agreement with Wanderlust Trails on the basis of the previously applicable Terms and Conditions, those terms apply, and the changed, amended or deleted Terms and Conditions apply to all agreements you enter with Wanderlust Trails after such change, amendment or deletion until any further change, amendment or deletion.
